My dear friend I wish you were back in Nigeria to see a new nite life about this so called bar beach, beautiful my friend I went home myself to see what the new govt did,amazing, I live In Chicago myself and I do go back to Nigeria Twice a year, I stay at least 3 months in Nigeria.

@Anonymous I used a regular Travel Insurance provider in the UK, which covered me for my time in Nigeria, It wouldn't hurt to call and ask them if you are covered there and any restrictions.

There is no specific Insurance you need for Nigeria, as far as I am aware, contact the Nigerian Embassy/High Commission in your country for information.

DO NOT pay money for anything outside the usual personal expenses you might incur for travelling. You should certainly not be sending money to Nigeria, or anyone purporting to represent your employer elsewhere before starting the Job.

You will need: Vaccinations, Malaria Medication, Work Permit Visa, and flight ticket, all of which should be paid for by an employer, although they may want to reimburse you later. Don't pay anyone but the relevant services themselves for these.

Hello Aaron, I'm thinking of going to work in Lagos Nigeria. I've been told I had to purchase the Oversea Travelers Insurance policy, as required by the Nigerian Immigration Service. Do you know how to purchase the ins. and who to contact? Is this a scam or ligit? Any assistance you can give will be greatly appreciated.

How now Aaron? I dont know if you are still active on this site, however I find your stories and pictures very interesting. I am trying to work out if I would have come across you on my travels to Lagos, I knew Bob and his girls from Bob's bar in 2004 and I was also there I think in 2002. The first trip I went from Lagos to Warri. In 2004 I was just in lagos. But I went to Bobs and the Outside Inn most evenings. It would be great to chat and swap stories! I loved it there. Vicky
